Rita Aidoo, MSW
Neighborhood House Social Services Coordinator

Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Rita relocated to the United States in 2001. She graduated from Charleston Southern University in May, 2014 where she majored in Psychology and minored in Sociology. She volunteered at Trident United Way’s 2-1-1 Hotline for four years and has also worked as hair stylist for 15 years.  Rita entered the University of South Carolina’s Master of Social Work program in 2014 where she focused on Health and Mental Health and a certificate in Drug and Addiction Studies. Rita also worked and volunteered at Maia Mom’s Organization where she did her foundation year internship during graduate school. She joined Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach’s Neighborhood House upon graduating from USC. Rita enjoys working one- on-one with the community members. She resides in Summerville, South Carolina with her two children, Zion and Olivia. Rita also enjoys reading, watching movies, and kickboxing.
