Changemakers & Champions Podcast

Stories of leadership that move communities forward.

Welcome to Changemakers & Champions—the podcast that spotlights the people powering progress in our communities. Too often, the work happening in our communities goes unseen—and the people behind it go unheard. Changemakers & Champions exists to change that.

This podcast was created to amplify the voices of local leaders who are creating real, lasting impact through service, generosity, and values-driven leadership. By sharing their stories, the challenges they’ve faced, the lessons they’ve learned, and the people they’ve lifted along the way, we hope to inspire others to lead with purpose and take action where they are.

Because when we listen to one another, we build stronger communities and real change begins.

For over 30 years, Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Services has worked at both ends of the poverty spectrum – breaking cycles of poverty with individuals and families and alleviating the effects of poverty experienced by those on fixed incomes. Our mission is to build equitable communities and empower community members to reach their full potential by providing basic and emergency needs, education, employment and health services. Our holistic, case-management approach addresses the core aspects of a successful life and provides opportunities for generations of families to build sustainable skills to overcome current conditions. Those in need work with our in-house social workers to determine the root cause of the needs they face, set goals and develop an action plan for progress. This integrated approach enables us to wrap multiple services around neighbors and where we can’t, we work with community organizations to provide needed services.
